Next Monthly Board Meeting
Date:Thursday, February 12, 2015
Location:Clubhouse
Time:7:00 pm
Agenda:View View/Print Agenda

President's Bulletin Board:
PinHi All! I am so happy that we have escaped the "big" snowstorms so far. February is the snowy-ist month so --fingers crossed!
PinYou probably noticed some trees were removed along the curve on Malvern drive and some others were pruned. There are many more in this area and elsewhere in Malvern that need some attention. We are chipping away at problem trees--pun intended!
PinOur monthly meetings have been very short this winter as there have been few problems and almost no members attending. I know it's cold and dark but we miss you!
PinDon't forget about the Winter Social on February 14th. It's a good chance to catch up with neighbors and friends.
PinI think we are all looking forward to Spring and warmer weather. Just a few more weeks to go! Hope you all stay warm and safe and have lots of Crocus and Daffodils to look forward to.

Secretary-Treasurer:
Annual dues invoices were mailed to all owners on February 2, 2015. Dues for 2015 total $550 per lot. The due date for payment is by March 31, 2015. Other information and instructions are included on a copy of the invoice which is posted Click here HERE.

Architectural Committee: Rules Review
As it is the beginning of a new year let's all review our Click here Rules and Guideline to ensure we are meeting the HOA requirements for outbuildings or additions to our homes. Any questions can be directed the a Click here Board member or specifically to me (Jerry) at 703-217-9031.

Clubhouse & Pool Committee: Help Wanted
  1. HELP WANTED - Clubhouse: Need a person who wants to earn some extra spending money.

Need person to check, clean, and restock the clubhouse after clubhouse rentals. There could be back-to-back rentals that need to be done on a short time frame, about one hour between the rentals so the next rental can get in on time. Must be at least 18 years old.

Anyone interested in this job can contact Joe Graham at 948-7060
  2. HELP WANTED - Pool: Need a person to check and maintain the pool this summer. This is a paid part time job. Must be at least 18 years old.

If interested please contact Joe Graham at 948-7060 for details and job description.
Grounds & Lake Committee: Lights
With the shortened daylight hours and long periods of darkness, I would like to ask members to let me know if there is a light out at the mail area so that I can more promptly correct it. Since I don't regularly pass the area at night I am often unaware of an issue until it's reported. If you see an issue at the mail area, please call Rick at 948-4330

Roads Committee: Snow
Fortunately we have not experienced much snow (yet), so things have been rather slow:
  • The replacement sign post for Malvern Dr. will be installed during the next bit of decent weather.
  • To date this season, we have only had to sand & salt a couple of times, no plowing.
  • Feel free to call me (T.J.) at 948-6340 if you experience any slick roads, or roads in need of any repair work.
  • You may also review the Click here Snow Removal Guidelines posted on our website.
  • I have at least one patch that I will have them re-work as soon as it's warm enough.
Firewise Committee: Chipper Day
On Wednesday, April 22, 2015, a large chipper and crew will be in Malvern to complete phase two of the 2014 Firewise Program in our community. If you participated in the first phase of the program in July contact the Program Coordinator only if you do not want to participate again. If you did not participate in July and would like to in April; please contact the Program Coordinator as soon as possible.

This is a great time to work in wooded areas to gather fallen branches, large sticks and small fallen trees. Remember to stack debris by April 21 within 10 feet of the road with the cut edge facing the road. Large trees will be accepted at the Madison County landfill during the Month of March at no cost. Be sure to enter the hours worked on your Firewise log. For detailed information and logs please refer to our Click here Firewise page, email the email Program Coordinator, or call 948-3230.

Thank you for your participation in the Firewise Program.
Note: Malvern is subscribed to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Wildland Fire Newsletter. Click here Click Here to view the January 2015 issue in your web browser.
